When Wrath came out, I did what a lot of people did and immediately rolled a death knight. It was my first melee toon since I’d leveled a druid. Eventually I’d learn that I was actually a ranged magical damage type of guy (my main became a Mage I rolled during Wrath) and unfortunately for my DK, he wasn’t anything like that. For most of Wrath and all of Cata, he’s sat in my character list, useless and unloved.
Which is why I’m debating making him my auction/bank alt instead of the level 1 blood elf pally who’s got that job right now. I could free up that character space for when MoP comes out. Plus he’d be fun in that role – he’s specc’d engineering and mining, he has a ton of pets, he can fly (and has the green protodrake) plus lots of bags and bank space. But at the same time, the tiny little roleplayer inside of me is screaming because the idea of a death knight holding that job. It just seems wrong – he should be hacking and slashing living things into bits and bits!
So is seems that Blizzcon was this past weekend and they released info on the next expansion. It seems to me that Blizz may be throwing in the towel with Cata and moving on to the next expansion. With that said I must say that I am extremely happy that Blizz decided to give the new race to both classes after the fiasco with the Worgen and Goblins though I do hope that they decide to put much more story into them. Cause lets face it. after the Worgen and Goblin starting zones there was not much of a story after that for the races. I just hope they dont rush this new expansion like they did with Cata and am glad that they have added a new tank/heal/dps class to the mix.

Ok so i guess the novelty of Worgen has wore off cause now i am officially back to the horde. so i decided that i would create my tauren pally and named him Hoeleecow because i wanted to see how healing was on pally. Well i am happy to say that i totally love it lol. especially for PvP. Today i decided to play holy in a random and ended up getting into WSG. now mind you i was only lv 71 upon entering the BG but ended at lv 72(was only a bubbly or two out). But that wasnt the best part. that came from being top in heals and second i think in killing blows not to mention having some pretty high damage for a healer.
I would have to say that today was a good WoW day. I was able to get my hunter to lv 85 and my a fluke was able to tame Sambas, the rare lion from Twilight Highlands all in the same day. It was awesome cause I literally downloaded _NPCScan 15 min before logging off and after clearing my cache I decided to do a quick fly but to see if he would happen to spawn and low and behold he spawned right in front of me, and with no other hunters in the immediate area I was able to tag him and drop a trap so that I could tame him. Today was a great day in wow.
I’ve been wanting to make myself a Hearthstone necklace for a looooong time. I’ve had the Sculpey and paint set aside for it for months now.
I had a problem though- I’d looked around a bit online to see what others were doing with Hearthstone imagery, and it’s always a sculpey stone with a painted swirl.. and while some of them were astoundingly well done, I didn’t like the fact that the swirl looked flat and obviously non-shimmery and non-magical.. I wanted something that would catch the light.
The other day I realized that the answer to my problems was “glass”. So I went to Michael’s and bought a bag of those decorative glass drops in various shades of blue for $1– you know the ones that people drop in the bottoms of vases and fish tanks.
Last night I spent less than 10 minutes folding granite Sculpey around one of the brighter blue bubbles, and then using a toothpick to scrape out the swirl. Then I took my post-it note pad (it was handy) and smooshed it here and there to give it awkward flat edges, and popped it in the oven for 18 minutes at 275 degrees.
Took me longer to bake it than it did to make it.
Once it cooled, I took an emery board to it to roughen up the bits I thought were too smooth and non-stone-like, and Viola! Hearthstone necklace!
(I would have tested it, but I was at home at the time and didn’t want to waste my cooldown… just in case.)
It catches the light beautifully.
I think if you wanted a little more *oomphf!* to your WoW-bling, you could probably place a piece of crumpled tinfoil behind the glass to make it a bit more shimmery. –Also, I made one stone textured one and one smooth one (at my husband’s suggestion). This is the smooth one. While the deliberately textured stone one looks nice, I think the texture takes away from the focus which is the swirl.
Be as dorky as me if you dare- and wear your hearthstone around your neck for all to see!
